SINGAPORE – The PAP has won the newly created Jurong-East-Bukit Batok GRC, securing 76.66 per cent of the votes against Red Dot United (RDU) in the May 3 General Election. The ruling party also clinched the Jurong Central SMC, also newly created, with 80.51 per cent of the vote against RDU.

SINGAPORE – The PSP’s “anti-foreigner rhetoric” will drive away international companies, as well as jobs and businesses for Singaporeans, said Senior Minister Teo Chee Hean. Singapore’s unity, stable government, and its consistent and rational policies are strong attractions for such companies to operate here, he said at a rally in Pioneer SMC on April 27. The rally, held at Jurong West Stadium, featured speeches by the party’s candidates for Pioneer SMC and West Coast-Jurong West GRC.

SINGAPORE – Red Dot United (RDU) on April 16 unveiled its slate for the newly formed Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC, which includes two candidates with political experience. Mr Osman Sulaiman, 50, is a director of a waste management company, and contested in the 2011, 2015 and 2020 general elections. Entrepreneur and author Liyana Dhamirah, 38, was an RDU candidate for Jurong GRC in the 2020 General Election.

SINGAPORE – Minister for Sustainability and the Environment Grace Fu will helm the PAP team to contest the newly-formed Jurong East-Bukit Batok GRC in the general election. The five-member team will include political newcomer David Hoe, 37, and Mr Lee Hong Chuang, 54, who contested the Hougang seat in the 2015 and 2020 elections. Mr Hoe is the director of philanthropy at Majurity Trust, while Mr Lee was the former branch chairperson of PAP Hougang division.
