More dry weather is on the way Wednesday so enjoy it while it lasts It was another picture-perfect early June day across Central and Eastern Kentucky on Tuesday. Sunshine dominated the skies once again with afternoon highs climbing well into the mid-80s, making it feel more like mid-summer than the start of meteorological summer. In fact it was our warmest day so far here in 2025.

A shower or two is possible in spots on Saturday Friday began on an active and dangerous note across Central and Eastern Kentucky as a developing area of low pressure brought widespread rain and storms during the morning commute. As forecast, the environment supported a low-end severe weather threat—one that sadly materialized in the form of a brief tornado in eastern Washington County.

Some heavy rain is possible during the Friday morning commute After a string of soggy and stormy days, Thursday brought a welcome change of pace across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Positioned between storm systems to our east and west, the region enjoyed a mostly dry and pleasant day. Sunshine broke through the clouds at times after some early morning fog, allowing afternoon temperatures to climb into the mid-70s.

Much of Thursday looks dry before the showers return Wednesday brought yet another day of overcast skies and spotty rain showers across Central and Eastern Kentucky. While it wasn’t quite as soggy as Tuesday, some areas still picked up moderate downpours and even heard a few rumbles of thunder.

Our weather will remain a bit unsettled in the coming days Tuesday picked up right where the long weekend left off—only this time, sunshine was replaced with umbrellas. A sluggish area of low pressure rolled northeast through the commonwealth, spreading rounds of steady rain across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Most of us saw gray skies and light to moderate rain throughout the day, making for a gloomy return to the workweek.
