The shooting happened around 11:20 p.m. Tuesday at an apartment complex on McHenry Street, near Mesa Drive. Authorities say the man and woman had been staying at the apartment when the shooting happened. After sending photos to the victim’s family, the man fled the scene.

HOUSTON – A person is dead, and three other people were rescued after a fire erupted inside an assisted living apartment complex in north Houston late Wednesday night. It happened at the Independence Hall Apartments on Burress Street and Tidwell Road shortly before 11 p.m. It’s unclear how the fire started, but the first crew of Houston firefighters saw the flames shooting from the complex’s second floor.
