Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts didn’t join President Donald Trump and the rest of his teammates on Monday for a celebration of the team’s Super Bowl LIX victory in February. The White House told HuffPost that the reason Hurts, along with some other unnamed teammates, didn’t make it was because of a scheduling conflict. The news comes after Hurts sidestepped a Time reporter’s question about whether or not he’d visit the White House by simply saying “um” and looking away.

President Donald Trump seems to be making progress on his promise to “vigorously pursue” the death penalty after former President Joe Biden commuted the sentences of 37 men on federal death row in December. NBC News reported on Sunday that several district attorneys are considering, or have considered, state charges against some of the men after Trump issued an executive order earlier this year asking them to evaluate the situation of the men and pursue the death penalty in general.

A man is suing American Airlines after he said the airline delayed medical attention for his 62-year-old father on a flight — a move he claims led to his father’s death. The father, John William Cannon, was traveling from Louisville, Kentucky, to Durango, Colorado, on April 28, 2023, to celebrate the life of his late girlfriend, who had died the month prior, Joe LoRusso, an attorney for the plaintiff, told HuffPost.

North Dakota Gov. Kelly Armstrong (R) blocked a bill that would have required libraries to put books that feature sexually explicit material in areas that are “not easily accessible” to minors. The bill, which would have applied to public libraries and libraries at public schools, also threatens prosecution against those that don’t comply. A two-thirds vote in favor of the bill in both the state’s Senate and the House could override Armstrong’s veto.
