AbstractJapanese morning glory (Ipomoea nil), a short day plant, has been used for studying flowering times. Here, quantitative trait loci (QTL) analysis for days from sowing to flowering (DTF) of F2 between I. nil var. Tokyo Kokei Standard (TKS) and I. hederacea line var. Q65, an early flowering variety, revealed four QTLs: QTL Ipomoea Flowering 1-4 (qIF1-4). Coastal ecosystems are invaluable for protecting terrestrial and marine biodiversity, mitigating the impacts of disasters such as typhoons and tsunamis, and promoting human health as recreational spaces (Carpenter et al., 2006; Maslo and Lockwood, 2014; Sutton-Grier and Sandifer, 2019). Approximately 60% of the world's population lives within 100 km of the coastline (Cohen et al., 1997), and coastal areas are the most easily modified human habitats.
