“There’s no such thing as putting creativity in a box,” says Allegra Hicks, whose work has long defied categorisation. British-Italian by way of Naples and London, Hicks has built a career out of weaving – often quite literally – the threads of art, design and narrative into objects that feel both ancient and entirely new. Her latest collection, Napoli Future Nostalgia, presented at Nilufar Depot during Milan Design Week 2025, is an ode to that sense of duality.

For Milan Design Week 2025, Hermès has returned to La Pelota, a former sports hall dating back to the 1930s, filling it with a startling white scenography dreamed up by Charlotte Macaux Perelman, the maison’s co-artistic director of home collections alongside Alexis Fabry. Hermès’ new designs are displayed in colourless suspended boxes, which project bright halos onto the floor.
