“When we're in our addictions, we're already feeling isolated and we're already feeling singled out,” OCARTA Recovery Center Executive Director Brandi Vore said during the grand opening of the advocacy center in Duncan June 3. After operating for 24 years in Oklahoma City, OCARTA — Oklahoma Citizens Advocates for Recovery and Transformation Association — opened its newest recovery center along Main Street Duncan in support of individuals and families impacted by opioid use.

One of Duncan’s educational administrators has earned a prestigious recognition from the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators for her notable years in education. Allison Lovett, Director of State and Federal Programs with Duncan Public Schools, received selection as 2025 District 15 Assistant Superintendent/Central Office Administrator of the Year by the Oklahoma Association of School Administrators.
