Toy Fair, officially called the North American International Toy Fair, is an annual event put on by the The Toy Association. On one hand, this industry event is designed to showcase new and upcoming toys and games. But it also works to build cohesion in the industry by getting many different facets of the industry under one roof: developers, manufacturers, public relations, shipping, and so on. For the second year in a row, I was lucky enough to attend Toy Fair in New York City.

This October, we’re doing something we’ve been dreaming of since 2019: We are taking Escape Immerse Explore to The Netherlands. The Netherlands is one of our favorite escape room destinations. We have been in love with the games in this region since we first visited back in 2017. We’ve returned many times and had wonderful trips filled with games that have captured our imaginations and made us rethink what is possible in escape rooms.

When people find out I’ve played 400 escape rooms, they react with awe and wonder, to which my usual response is “That’s nothing—my podcast co-host David Spira has played over 1,200 escape rooms!” However, as it turns out, even David is not the final boss when it comes to the most escape rooms played. Enter Sera Dodd, who alongside her partner Sharan Gill, is one of the most experienced escape room players in the Western world.
