Meet the goats on a rural smallholding stay and learn how you can make cheese at home. Having grown up in Yorkshire, for me, the wild North York Moors National Park can’t be topped. So the chance for a short break in pretty Rosedale Abbey near Pickering is a draw in itself, let alone the chance to learn how to make cheese at home – a process far more approachable than I’d imagined.

Danish by design: Tamsin Burnett-Hall slows down to explore Denmark’s coastland area and archipelago. There’s an appeal to the Nordic countries that’s both wholesome and slightly ethereal. It’s an atmosphere of long, lightfilled summer days spent largely outdoors, contrasted with winter cosiness and thick woolly jumpers, as epitomised by Danish hygge. My fascination started with childhood books, from Hans Christian Andersen’s fairy tales to the enchanting Finnish Moomins.
