1. IntroductionHemiplegic migraine (HM) is a rare subtype of migraine with aura (MA) characterised by recurrent attacks of reversible motor weakness or paralysis (hemiplegia) on one side of the body (1). These attacks typically last from minutes to hours and are often accompanied by other migraine symptoms such as headaches, visual disturbances, and sensory changes (2). Sporadic HM (SHM) is a subtype of HM, and its exact prevalence is unknown; it is estimated to affect <0.01% of the population (3).
