    A streaming platform doesn’t bring back a long-cancelled show for a new season unless executives have mathematical proof that doing so will activate its still-devoted fan base. Evidently, King of the Hill falls into the “safe bet” category, since we now know its 14th season — more than 15 years after its 13th-season finale — is coming to Hulu August 4th. But what about the proof of intense fandom that can’t be quantified by anyone in the STEM fields? What about art?

    Looking at the ATX TV Festival schedule and seeing that the King of the Hill panel at the historic Paramount Theatre was supposed to run from 7 p.m. to 8:15 p.m., I wondered if the plan was to show one episode of Season 14 (set to premiere August 4th), or possibly even two.
