The Canadian Securities Administrators (“CSA”) have republished for comment proposed rule amendments and policy changes to implement an “access equals delivery” model for certain continuous disclosure documents of non-investment fund reporting issuers (the “Proposed Amendments”). The Proposed Amendments address certain concerns that were raised following the publication of the Initial Proposals (as defined below). The comment period will end on February 17, 2025.

A new study found that four in 10 cancer cases among U.S. adults were linked to modifiable risk factors, such as smoking, excess weight, and drinking alcohol. The research also revealed that 44% of cancer-related deaths are related to controllable risk factors. Many people are unaware that factors such as drinking alcohol and not getting enough exercise are connected with cancer risk, experts said.

The World Mosquito Program facility will give more than 1 billion of the insects the Wolbachia bacteria, which is harmless to humans but prevents the mosquitos from carrying the deadly virus that causes dengue fever, and even Zika and chikungunya. As they interbreed with local mosquitos, they’ll pass along the bacteria until eventually no mosquitoes can carry the diseases.
