1 Introduction Mental health disorders are a significant contributor to the global burden of disease. However, despite advancements in the understanding and management of mental health conditions over the last decade, nearly one billion individuals worldwide (1 in 8) live with a diagnosable mental health disorder (World Health Organization 2022). Globally, mental health systems lack the funding and resources needed to effectively meet the escalating needs of diverse populations.
