Tuesday, 13 April 2025: Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC), the country’s largest life insurer, reported a 9.91% year-on-year (YoY) increase in new business premium for April 2025—surpassing the industry growth rate of 8.43% and private life insurers’ growth of 6.09%, as per data released by the Life Insurance Council. In April 2025, LIC collected ₹13,610.63 crore in new business premiums, up from ₹12,383.64 crore in April 2024.
