    Issues with a new public safety complex on Jekyll Island will be resolved in the next 30 days, allowing Georgia State Patrol and Jekyll Island Fire Department personnel to move into the building today. Dabbs-Williams General Contractors of Statesboro broke ground on the $7.5 million, 19,700-square-foot building in 2023. When finished, it will house the island's Georgia State Patrol post, the Jekyll Island Fire Department and an emergency operations center.

Brian Kemp due to pending criminal charges. Glynn County School Board Chairman Hank Yeargan said the finalists are Brad Brown, Reggie Jackson and Marianne Stonefield.

    By By TAYLOR COOPER [email protected] The Brunswick-Glynn County Joint Water and Sewer Commission filed a motion to dismiss a lawsuit filed by four companies - all owned by area developer Vassa Cate - alleging that part of its rate structure is an illegal tax and that Glynn County customers have been wrongfully charged over $32 million since 2020. The JWSC responded to the suit last week.

Frank Logue, bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of Georgia, compared a church to a rescue operation for lost souls Wednesday at the groundbreaking Holy Nativity Episcopal Church's building expansion project. His allegory started with a small fishing village on a rough coastline that saw many shipwrecks. Inhabitants of that village spent a good portion of their time rescuing people, and as the story of their deeds spread, many more people sought them out and came to live there.
