Connecticut’s Northeast Probate Court has moved to a more accessible location in Putnam, near the town’s municipal buildings, officials said. Judge of Probate Gabrielle Labonte said this week that the Probate Court has moved from 508 Pomfret St. to 84 Providence St., a spot more easily reached by public transportation. “The new space is situated in the heart of Putnam, right near the new municipal complex,” Labonte said.

A mistreated dog was found abandoned in a Bristol park on Monday, officials said. Bristol Animal Control officers were called to Page Park on Monday morning after a dog was found lying under a tree, the department said in a statement. The department shared photos of the dog on Facebook. “We found this sweet little (girl) that had apparently been left there.” the message said.

A 21-year-old man who drowned in a reservoir in Oxford last week was set to enter his junior year at Central Connecticut State University this fall, the school said in a release on Monday. Kai Thomas Boapeah died from an accidental drowning at the Seymour Reservoir No. 2 in Oxford on June 20, according to the Department of Energy and Environmental Protection and the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner.
