BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - WBRC is working to learn more after Birmingham Councilor Hunter Williams called on the city to help with what he says is an increase of unhoused people setting up camps at numerous businesses along Montclair Road. While no one wanted to go on camera, several who work at the businesses along Montclair Road told WBRC that they’ve experienced issues with unhoused people on their property.

HANCEVILLE, Ala. (WBRC) - We’re getting reaction from neighbors in Hanceville after WBRC learned Thursday that the city is pausing its efforts to rebuild the police department and plans to sell its fleet of police vehicles. This all comes following the decision earlier this year to disband the department following the indictment of its former chief and several officers on charges of mismanagement and mishandling of its evidence room.

(WBRC) - We’re learning more about what city leaders are planning after disbanding the police department following the indictment of its former chief and several officers on charges of mismanagement and handling of the evidence room. Cullman County Sheriff Matt Gentry told WBRC Thursday that his deputies will continue to be the primary source of law enforcement in Hanceville through at least July 2026.

While they haven’t seen any cases recently, Pleasant Grove Police want to remind everyone that criminals are also out and about during the warmer months, and something as simple as an unlocked car door could leave you the victim of a burglary.

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - Neighbors in part of the Jones Valley area of Birmingham are drying out after hours of soaking rain, which flooded streets and yards in the morning on Monday, May 26. Neighbors on Hemlock Avenue say they’ve been dealing with flooding issues for years, they’re blaming it on bad drainage. Video taken by WBRC showed water cutting through peoples yards, pooling considerably in some spots.
