The Toyota Yaris hybrid might not lead the small car segment for excitement, but it’s hard to argue with its continued success. More than five million have been sold in Europe since its 1999 introduction and sales show no signs of slowing even as more manufacturers turn their backs on the supermini market.

The Yaris is a car I’ve never really spent much time in, so I’ve been pleasantly surprised this week by what an easy and efficient thing it is. Managing 80mpg on a 30-mile journey (without really trying), is seriously impressive. Nice to see a green press car too! https://t.co/mwaJqBpE1v

New Discovery in today for a good clean and protect – the main dealer prep left a lot to be desired, unsurprisingly!. This customer is now on their fourth Disco since I started valeting cars for them and always specs and maintains them to perfection https://t.co/ltYudbuErh

The ‘kick-release’ electric boot is easily one of my least favourite bits of tech on new cars as it NEVER works when you want it. Was genuinely excited when I realised the new Q5 has a projection to tell you where to wave your foot. Game-changer… if it actually worked that is 🙄 https://t.co/c1rg4zpnxe
