You may have heard of the “quad-demic” that has adults calling in sick to work and kids missing school this winter: High levels of the flu, COVID-19, RSV, and norovirus. When President Joe Biden pardoned his son Hunter last night, he spared him a possible prison sentence for federal felony gun and tax convictions. But he did something else: He also protected him from any retaliatory future prosecutions by a Justice Department that Donald Trump has vowed to use to exact revenge on his political opponents. The decision marked a 180-degree turn for President Biden, who has repeatedly said he would not interfere with any legal processes and decisions involving Hunter.
