The family of a man killed in a hit in run a year ago today in Surrey is asking anyone with information to come forward. On July 29, 2023 at around 12:38 a.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a pedestrian hit-and-run collision in the 8200-block of 128 Street. The pedestrian, Zachary Frise, was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries. Police say Frise was helped by several Good Samaritans before officers arrived on scene.

Homicide investigators are releasing the name and photo of a man who was stabbed to death in Surrey earlier this week. Police said they were called to a report of a fight in the 6600-block of King George Boulevard around 11:50 p.m. on July 23. There, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds. Despite life-saving efforts, he died at the scene. Police are now identifying the deceased as 47-year-old Jason Richard Gill of Surrey.

Homicide investigators hope the public can help advance their investigation into a July 5 shooting in Surrey that left one man dead. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) says the 5:30 a.m. shooting in a parking lot near the 7300-block of 122 Street near Strawberry Hills in Newton was targeted and an isolated incident. Police have identified the deceased as 25-year-old Jatindeep Singh of Langley.

Large quantities of illicit drugs, illegal firearms and $160,000 in cash were seized in Surrey earlier this year following an investigation into an alleged drug trafficking network that was operating in Metro Vancouver. The bust, announced by Surrey RCMP Thursday, stems from an investigation into a drug trafficking group that began in August 2023. Police say they executed an initial search warrant on Oct. 17, 2023 in the 7400-block of 184th Street.
