One of the features is a large television that continuously runs a slate of Les Mills video exercise classes. Most classes are 15-30 minutes in length. Ryan Hursey, a longtime employee and aquatics instructor who has worked at several YMCAs since 1995, is spearheading the transition of the space.

By Teri SteinJanuary 8, 2025 2A special presentation was made to Ryan Porter, Dover patrolman, at the Jan. 6 Dover Council meeting for his actions in saving a life in 2024. Kimberly Kroh, executive director of the Heartland, Stark and Muskingum Lakes American Red Cross, and Erica Van Pelt, a Dover resident who serves as the operations manager of the Northern Ohio Region of the Red Cross, presented a Lifesaving Award for Extraordinary Personal Action to Porter.

Then at 8 p.m. we will have a candlelight service, but the Lovefeast will not be served at that service,” said Rev.

The display is a labor of love to remember the late Jim Page and collect donations for the Friends of the Homeless Shelter in New Philadelphia. “We’re adding stuff everywhere,” Shane Page said. “We’re adding a wire frame train and probably another 50 or so blow molds.”Some pieces including the swamp monster and Elf on the Shelf were moved to other areas.

By Teri SteinDecember 9, 2024 27Everyone is invited to wear their finest Victorian-style clothing when the Midvale Old Fashioned Christmas event returns Dec. 14 from 3-6 p.m. A collaboration between the Village of Midvale and the Midvale Methodist Church, the event will provide opportunities for holiday fun. This is the fourth year for the event, which will be held entirely on State Street in front of the Midvale Methodist Church. The street will be blocked off for the festival.
