    Metropolis Public Library board began its Tuesday, June 17, meeting with the swearing in of a new member. Abby Butler took the oath of office, replacing Amanda Ridel on the board. Board president Rhonda James reminded members the annual meeting will take place in July and will include the setting of regular board meetings and the election of officers. She also noted that three members are up for reappointment. Ted Wells and Kelly Sullivan have voiced they want to remain on the board.

    CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — The academic honors president’s list for the spring 2025 semester has been announced by Dr. Joseph Hopkins, Campbellsville University’s president. Gracie Hodges, of Metropolis, is among the students on the president’s list. The academic honors list recognizes students who achieve a grade point average of 3.50 or above for the semester with a course load of at least 12 hours.
