Allianz Life Insurance Co. of North American has entered into an agreement to offer its in-plan annuity solution on the platform of Empower. Allianz Lifetime Income+ will be the first fixed index annuity on Empower's platform, and the agreement will grant the carrier access to millions of Americans in defined contribution retirement plans. A Texas federal court was wrong in holding that the FTC overstepped its legal authority in issuing a rule banning noncompete agreements, the FTC said in a Thursday brief to the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.

Trade groups representing the biggest U.S. banks sued the U.S. Federal Reserve over its process for determining banks’ resiliency in annual stress tests.
