Creighton University announces that starting in July, work will begin to create a campus quadrangle, 251,500 square feet of green space near 22nd and Burt Streets, to be completed in fall 2026. The 5.7 acres of natural grass will include an amphitheater, pavilion, stage, a fountain plaza, and an ellipse with an art installation.

The Lancaster County Sheriff's Office says they were notified by the Norris School District about a possibly intoxicated bus driver. The Sheriff says 67-year old Betty Johnson failed a breathalyzer test and was arrested. Sheriff's investigators say she was found to have a blood alcohol content level about three times the legal limit.

Omaha Police say two teens are now in custody in connection with a carjacking and assault last week at Westroads Mall. Police say Robbery Unit detectives located and arrested a 17-year-old male near 78th and Bondesson Streets. Investigators also developed information the second suspect in the carjacking,18-year-old Dhevan Phillips-Mills, was in Lincoln.

OPD Homicide Detectives have arrested three men in connection with the murder of 35-year- old Kyaw Thu at 45th and Charles Streets. The suspects are booked for criminal conspiracy and 1st-degree murder. Omaha Police officers were called to the scene around two a.m. on May 18th, 2024 and found a male victim suffering from a gunshot wound.

Corrections says 31-year -old Tomica Anderson did not return Sunday afternoon from a religious furlough. Anderson started her sentence last November: five to six years for burglary out of Douglas County. She has a tentative release date of March 29th, 2027.
