In Norse Mythology, Asgard with the yggdrasil is always worth a visit (and a treasure to view in film, although marvel can get stereotypically mainstream even with exotic mythological content to work with). albeit the version with Hela, whose iconic line: “It has come to my attention that you don’t know who I am”; is a verily noteworthy film to review.

New ResultsI wrote about the basis of a pathological cascade recreated or bioengineered on an organ-on-a-chip. To identify a biological switch prolyl-hydroxylase domain 2 (PHD2) that regulates hypoxia-factor 1 alpha (HIF1a) driven oxidation during renal calcification, at the renal papillary tip region. Is there a pathological switch that triggers renal calcification? We ask and answer with pathology, -omics and functional assays recreated on a microfluidic chip.

AbstractIntroduction: Nephrocalcinosis, nephrolithiasis and Randalls plaque formation are distinct renal pathologies of biomineralization predominantly originating in the renal papillae. Experimental evidence on the events leading to the initial aggregation of nanometer-scale plaque or stone deposits in these regions are limited.
