Data released this afternoon shows that numbers seeking accommodation saw a month-on-month decrease of 335 in December 2024, down 2.2pc on November. The overall figure of 14,864 people in need of a home includes 1,467 families, 3,366 children, and 4,745 single adults. These numbers exclude those rough sleeping, refugees, asylum seekers, individuals in domestic violence shelters, and those in hidden homelessness—people sleeping in cars, on couches, or in unsuitable living conditions.
