IntroductionCardiopulmonary exercise testing (CPET) is a type of stress test predominantly performed on a cycle ergometer or treadmill during which pulmonary gas exchange, heart rate, blood pressure, electrocardiogram and oxygen saturation are recorded at rest and while exercising, along with symptoms. Sometimes more invasive measurements, such as blood lactate levels or arterial blood gasses, are also collected.
