Grandstreet Theatre trees take a bough

The sounds of chainsaws could be heard along Lawrence Street this week as city arborists took down two towering spruce trees on the north side of Grandstreet Theatre. Officials with the city of Helena decided to take the trees down after Grandstreet raised concerns about the size of the trees and the danger they pose to the building and nearby power lines, said Jake Garcin, a spokesperson for the city. “We are worried about a windstorm taking them down.” Garcin said.

Reciting the Hawthorne pledge in unison by the entire student body gets the school day started in earnest. “I pledge to live this day with hope in my heart, energy in my mind, and gentleness in my spirit.”After a brief buzz in the hallway as students make their way to class, a quietness settles throughout the school.
