Let’s talk a little bit about a song on the record called “The Man from Uvalde.” It tells a story of someone you met who experienced the shooting at Rob Elementary back in 2021. How did hearing that story affect you? I’m a father. I have a three-year-old back at home, and the whole thing just broke my heart. So I wanted to write write a song about it, you know? It was heartbreaking. It was hard to write about. And sometimes, some things just kind of come over you.

Hands-on experiences teach students about the BayThis summer, I had the pleasure of working on the Chesapeake Bay for Sultana Education Foundation’s paddling program as a trip leader. The organization takes its name from the schooner Sultana, a replica of an 18th-century British Navy vessel that sailed the Chesapeake enforcing taxes prior to the Revolutionary War. The nonprofit provides educational opportunities that integrate the culture, history, and ecology of the Chesapeake Bay.

Sitting Down With Senator Sarah Elfreth To Talk About a Better Environment for the Chesapeake BayMaryland State Senator Sarah Elfreth represents District 30, which includes Annapolis City and parts of Anne Arundel County. If you are like me, Governor Moore’s request for a commercial fishery disaster declaration seemed out of the blue. However, it cited severe economic and ecological damages caused by blue catfish and other invasive species.
