IMPHAL: At least six suspected members of the Meitei radical group Arambai Tenggol (AT) were arrested on Thursday in connection with the extortion and abduction of a Keirang Mayai Leikai resident on January 14, police said. IMPHAL: Alliance Air flights from Imphal to Guwahati, Kolkata, and Dimapur were flagged off on Wednesday by Manipur chief minister N. Biren Singh at Imphal International Airport. “The air tickets will be offered at a subsidised rate twice a week on these new flight routes,” said Singh while launching the flights under the state’s Viability Gap Funding (VGF) scheme.

IMPHAL: Two bombs, suspected to have been dropped by drones, exploded at Kangchup Phayeng in Imphal West on Tuesday night, said Manipur police. No casualties were reported. Additionally, a large cache of arms, explosives, and ammunition was recovered from the fringe areas of Aigejang and Leimaram Uyok Ching in Bishnupur district on Wednesday. An officer said that Kuki militants are suspected to be behind the drone attack in Imphal West.
