The second season of the T100 Triathlon World Tour kicks off on the first weekend of April. After two events in 2023 and 2024, Singapore is an established location with proven challenges for the athletes: a very warm swim, a surprisingly hilly bike course – considering it’s on major roads in the city center – and a tough run in hot-and-humid conditions. The event will use a two-day schedule (women on Saturday, men on Sunday) with live broadcasts for each.

The triathlon racing season in the Northern Hemisphere is about to start – and it will start with a bang! Once again, Ironman 70.3 Oceanside is part of the Ironman Pro Series and has attracted a large field of strong athletes. Last year, it had the largest ever pro field in a 70.3; between men and women, 101 professionals started the race. This year, 110 athletes are on the start list.

Prize money is an important part of how pro triathletes make money from their sport, but it should be noted that these numbers are before any expenses such as taxes, travel, coaching, or physio. Athletes also have additional income from sponsors, appearance fees, and – mainly for short-course athletes – stipends or expenses paid by national federations.

Taupo, New Zealand may not be easy to get to, but the scenery is worth the trip for athletes racing the 2024 Ironman 70.3 World Championships. This year a strong women’s pro field has attracted over 60 of the best in the world at the middle distance to tackle the beautiful (yet demanding) course. The point-to-point swim will be in freshwater Lake Taupo and will likely be wetsuit legal for everyone – likely leading to bigger packs and less separation in the water.
