Last year, a major soccer tournament forced the Ironman European Championships in Frankfurt to be delayed until the middle of August. This year, it’s back at its traditional date in late June, and the two major German full-distance races in Frankfurt and Roth are once again only one week apart. Following the female European Championships in Hamburg four weeks ago, Frankfurt will host the male version with more than 50 registered pro athletes.

Ironman has announced that the World Championship will return to a one-day format in Kona from 2026 onward, but for 2025, there will still be two different locations for the men (Nice) and women (Kona). Similarly, the 2025 European Championships are split between Hamburg (women) and Frankfurt (men and age-groupers), just as last year. Last year, San Francisco T100 was one of the highlights of the PTO’s new racing series: An iconic venue, incredible race dynamics after a fast swim, a three-way sprint finish for the men, and a dominating performance by Taylor Knibb for the women. With this year’s strong fields, we can look forward to exciting racing, which you can watch live. The men’s race will start with a 6 a.m. plunge from a small ferry in the cold San Francisco Bay; the women will start 45 minutes later.

This year’s 70.3 St. George will be the last race where strong fields attack the iconic, tough course. To do well in St. George requires a complete athlete and smart pacing and execution, and a win is considered one of the most prestigious half-distance titles across the season. The race started in 2010 as a full-distance event, which was then shortened to a 70.3 in 2014.
