Amtrak has commenced major construction work at its King Street Yard in Seattle as part of a multi-year infrastructure project to modernise train maintenance operations ahead of the arrival of its new Airo trains in 2026. Alstom has delivered the first of 29 Innovia APM R vehicles to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport as part of an 87 million USD replacement project for the airport’s automated people mover (APM) Plane Train system. The vehicles will support increased demand and help facilitate a planned extension to the existing system. The Plane Train provides transport between terminals at Hartsfield-Jackson, which is currently the busiest airport in the world by passenger traffic.
