Local country music artist Dayna Reid made her debut appearance at Boots and Hearts Music Festival on August 11. The 13th annual Boots and Hearts Music Festival took place August 8-11 at Burl’s Creek Event Grounds in Barrie. The four-day festival featured headliners Jason Aldean, Thomas Rhett, and Cody Johnson. Other notable acts on The Main Stage included Carly Pearce, Matchbox 20, and Brothers Osborne. Headlining The Front Porch Stage were Emerson Drive, Nate Smith, and Jackson Dean. Singer songwriter Sarah Vanderzon was named the Emerging Artist Showcase winner.

The Bracebridge Bandits U11 select baseball team has qualified for the Ontario Amateur Softball Association (OASA) Provincial B tournament. The team made their first appearance at the Eastern Ontario provincial qualifier, held in Frankford, Ontario. This was the team’s first tournament playing together competitively, outside of their local Bracebridge house league.
