    Meta introduced the fourth generation of its wildly popular  program, called the Llama 4 "herd," over the weekend. Almost immediately, a debate ensued that was somewhat uncharacteristic of previous releases. The herd is a collection of three different models, dubbed Behemoth, Scout, and Maverick. Meta says that Behemoth, which is still in development, will be "one of the smartest LLMs in the world" when it's done.

    GoogleDuring its Google Cloud Next 25 event Wednesday, the search giant unveiled the latest version of its Tensor Processing Unit (TPU), the custom chip built to run artificial intelligence--with a twist. For the first time, Google is positioning the chip for inference, the making of predictions for live requests to millions or even billions of users, as opposed to training, the development of neural networks carried out by teams of AI specialists and data scientists.

I like the Nothing Phone 3a — the Phone 3a Pro, too, for that matter. A small footnote to the current Llama 4 buzz. The marketing material on the front of https://t.co/U84CHjP14s seems to confuse Maverick and Scout, claiming that the former is the single-GPU-capable model. The developer documentation makes clear that the reverse is the case. https://t.co/syicoDM3X7
