Person hospitalized after vehicle crashes into bee keepers' truck in Oregon

OREGON, Ohio — One person is in the hospital after an early morning accident in Oregon. The crash happened just before 2 a.m. on Brown near Stadium Road. Police at the scene told WTOL 11 bee keepers were working on the side of the road when a pick-up truck hit their company vehicle. One person was rushed to the hospital with unknown injuries. Brown Road was blocked off for several hours while the accident was being investigated. It has reopened to traffic.
Lakota Elementary School principal charged with assaulting student

SANDUSKY COUNTY, Ohio — A Lakota Schools educator was charged with assaulting a student. According to an official report filed on May 8 with the Sandusky County Sheriff's office, the incident involved Lakota Elementary School Principal Dana Ward and a young student. Deputies said a parent complained about witnessing Ward physically dragging and yanking the child's arm after school, attempting to bring the student to the parent line. Ward pleaded not guilty to the assault charge.

SPRINGFIELD TOWNSHIP, Ohio — A new roundabout near a popular restaurant and ice cream shop in Springfield Township is set to begin construction on Monday, June 2. The roundabout is going in at Hill Avenue and North McCord Road and is expected to close the intersection for approximately 45 days, according to Lucas County's lead engineer. The Lucas County Engineer's Office said they collaborated with Mr. G's Barn, a restaurant known for its ice cream, to address increasing traffic in the area.

HOLLAND, Ohio — A school bus with Springfield Local School District was involved in a crash late Thursday morning. The crash occurred around 11:30 a.m. near Airport Highway and Holloway Road. A text message sent by the district at 11:36 a.m. to families said "minor injuries were reported" and a "nurse is on scene." It further stated that students would be delayed arriving home as a result of the incident.

DEFIANCE, Ohio — The Lucas County Coroner's Office is investigating the death of a Michigan woman found in Defiance, Ohio. The Defiance Police Department said just after 10:30 a.m. on May 26, an unattended car was found outside a business on the 900 block of Clinton Street with a dog inside, a press release said. They later learned the car belonged to a missing/endangered person out of Boyne City, Michigan.

Starting Tuesday, May 27, U.S. Route 20 between Crossroads Parkway and Lime City Road will be closed for approximately 45 days for the roundabout construction. A detour route will direct traffic via I-75, SR 795 and I-280/SR 420. Local access to Crossroads Centre will remain open on U.S. 20. The project is slated for completion in August 2025. Miller Bros.

According to reports from police, 37 year old Jessica Garcia knowingly caused or attempted to cause physical harm to another person when she fired a gun at a victim.
