1 Introduction Heterostructures assembled using single sheets of 2D materials are highly promising due to the novel properties they exhibit and several advantages they offer in comparison to their isolated counterparts.[1-3] Graphene has been widely explored as a building block in such heterostructures. As a one-atom thick material, the properties of graphene are highly sensitive to its environment.
