There's so much hype about AI that it's easy to get caught up in it. Perhaps it's a slippery slope, and perhaps not, but it's very easy to project what AI "ought to be" capable of soon, given where it is now. That doesn't guarantee it ever will be. Also, not everyone has an accurate picture of where it is now. There are a lot of different things that are called "artificial intelligence" and it's important to understand which one we're talking about.
