    Here we go again! Another heavy rain fall up in the Dales and the River Swale overflows and floods the A684 at Morton Bridge. Having lived and farmed alongside the River Swale for 61 years downstream of Morton on Swale Bridge, I feel that I am an ideal commentator on the now annual problem of flooding and road closures at Morton-on-Swale. A previous bad flooding event in August 1987 (hurricane Charlie) closed the road for three to four days.
