    UN Special Representative to Libya Abdoulaye Bathily has resigned after 18 months in post, leaving behind a political process best described as moribund. Most international policymakers seem to believe Libyan rivals must initiate the deal to break the current impasse. The UN has taken the view that progress is not possible without the approval of key powerbrokers and their international backers.

    We learned about the Edison field plan over two years ago and have passionately presented arguments against artificial turf and lights. Much research has been done and hundreds of presentations have been made to the Town Council, Board of Education and Recreation Commission. Experts, in various scientific subjects, have stated these artificial fields are very dangerous due to their toxicity and increases in non-contact injuries.

Students and other users of the field should not have to deal with these safety and health concerns.
