CRETE — In a matchup of two teams having stellar seasons, it was Beatrice that added its great résumé. The Class B No. 3 Lady Orange (18-4) used two big blasts early and the arm of Jayla Boyko to hold off No. 5 Crete (16-5) 3-0 on Thursday. Callie Schwisow opened the scoring with a solo blast in the second inning and then Boyko stole the show. The Beatrice junior finished with 15 strikeouts, baffling Crete with a blistering rise ball and a dancing screwball.
