SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- San Francisco Mayor Daniel Lurie's office released a new report Monday on the recently opened mobile triage unit in the city's SoMa neighborhood. The unit is a place where people who are homeless or experiencing substance abuse can go to be connected with shelter or drug addiction services. Since opening in early February, the unit has served over 12,000 people.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- It was a night of music, jaw-dropping fashion and even a red carpet. All of it was part of San Francisco's 16th annual Transgender Day of Visibility celebration. "This event is really just all-encompassing to empower folks to feel the love and the joy. There's a red carpet. People are urged to dress to impress in however they feel most comfortable and affirmed," said Eli Berry, the communications director for the Transgender Day of Visibility Committee.

SACRAMENTO, Calif. (KGO) -- Bay Area Assemblymember Buffy Wicks lead a group of state lawmakers in Sacramento Thursday. Wicks bringing forward a legislative package of 22 different bills, all aimed at fixing California's housing crisis by reducing bureaucratic red tape. "Housing is the number one expense in almost every single household in California. And lack of housing affordability affects every other aspect of our society," Wicks said.

SAN FRANCISCO (KGO) -- Devastating images are coming out of Southeast Asia Friday. Hours after a 7.7 magnitude earthquake struck in Myanmar, the total number of dead there and in neighboring Thailand is still unknown. Thousands of miles away here in the Bay Area, many in the local Burmese community are in shock. "I couldn't even sleep. Yesterday I was trying to contact my family and my friends who live there," said Myatkaung Khant.

(KGO) — After weeks on strike, union workers on Monday firmly rejected the latest offer coming from the Valley Transportation Authority. More than 80% of the vote is in favor of continuing the Amalgamated Transit Union’s strike. “By a vote of 188 yes, to 919 no,” said ATU Local 265 president Raj Singh. The VTA’s latest proposal offered an 11% pay increase over a three-year contract.
