    A Pre-Nuptial Agreement (‘prenup’) is a legal agreement made between soon-to-be newly-weds. Put simply, prenups allow you to seek to agree in advance on the division of assets in the (hopefully unlikely) event that you divorce.     With lighter evenings and (slightly) warmer weather, Spring is that time of year when parents realise the school summer holidays are not too far off and are busy making family plans for the summer holidays. We are often asked to advise separated parents about the rules on taking their child/children abroad and whether they require permission to do so. The rules are clear. A parent must get the permission of everyone with parental responsibility for a child before taking the child abroad.

    Vanessa joined Greene & Greene in 2023 for her second year of Qualifying Work Experience. Vanessa successfully completed seats within the Private Client and Residential Property teams before joining our Dispute Resolution department where she will continue her career as a Solicitor. Alongside her work in this team, Vanessa will also play a key role in our Construction department.     The Government is reforming the Child Maintenance Service (CMS) to crackdown on parents who fail to pay child maintenance and ensure that children get the support they deserve more quickly. Currently, sanctions for those who continually avoid their financial obligations towards their children include the use of bailiffs, forcing the sale of property, disqualification from holding a driving licence or UK passport, and prison.
