With the clock winding down in the final seconds of the first half, St. Ignatius senior guard Sally Kennedy took the inbounds pass in stride and sprinted upcourt. In rhythm, she let it fly from just inside halfcourt. This wasn’t just any old shot though, any desperate heave. This was a shot Kennedy had worked at and practiced.

Both Mustangs were moving on. Panatera shot an 89 overall, good for fifth in the individual standings, and Burns shot a 96, 15th in the standings, on Oct.
