It’s fairly common to search for airline tickets and find that ticket prices are cheaper for one seat than they are for two (or more). Airlines normally have a certain number of seats sorted into multiple fare classes (or buckets) and, once one fare class sells out, it moves on to the next, more expensive one. If there’s only one seat left in the cheaper fare class “A,” and you search for two seats, it will price both of them as the more expensive fare class “B.”Or, that’s how it normally works.

Hyatt’s Category 1-4 free night certificates can be earned in several ways, most commonly as an anniversary perk of the Chase World of Hyatt Card, as a 30-night Milestone perk or by spending $15,000/year on the Chase card. One of the easiest, and perhaps least-noticed, ways to earn Cat 1-4 certs is through World of Hyatt’s Brand Explorer promotion. Brand Explorer allows WOH members to earn category 1-4 certs each time that they stay at five unique brands within WOH’s portfolio.

Southwest has made a slew of negative program changes over the past few months, not only ending the free bag policy but also gutting earnings on paid flights, adding expiration dates to travel credits, and much more.

World of Hyatt tends to run quite a few concurrent promotions based on a variety of metrics: stays, nights, visiting specific brands, earning with partners, etc. Most promos require registration, but it’s always been a pain to track down which ones are targeted to you, which you’ve already registered for, and the ones you still need to sign up for.

Today, United and JetBlue have announced a new partnership that they’re calling “Blue Sky,” a name that’s sure to raise some digital eyebrows over at the social media app, “Bluesky.”The short-rumored partnership will begin implementing benefits later this year, including things like reciprocal elite perks, mileage earning, and mileage redemption. Perhaps most importantly, it will finally get United back into JFK, where it completely ceased operations in 2022.
