In 2023, Marcus Brown shared the debut Nourished By Time album, Erotic Probiotic 2, but he’s stayed busy since. The Baltimore musician released collabs with Kevin Abstract and evilgiane, dropped an EP called Catching Chickens, and was revealed as part of the lineup for this year’s Outside Lands. Now, he’s announcing his sophomore effort The Passionate Ones, arriving in August. Brown worked on The Passionate Ones in Baltimore, London, and New York.

The former Brockhampton leader released his indie rock experiment Blanket last year, and he’s done a lot since then. During his Coachella set, Abstract brought out Sky Ferreira, and they covered Lady A’s “Need You Now” together. Abstract also covered “Once In A Lifetime” on that Stop Making Sense tribute compilation. He collaborated with Lil Nas X and Toro Y Moi. Today, he’s got a new song with Nourished By Time.

Nourished by Time, the home recording project headed up by Baltimore musician Marcus Brown, landed on our Best New Bands and Best Albums lists last year thanks to Erotic Probiotic 2. He’s since signed to XL Recordings and put out an EP with them, Catching Chickens. Today, he’s back with a new track that appears on Scenic Route – Road Less Travelled Vol. 2, a forthcoming compilation from the London label Scenic Route.

Nourished By Time — the Baltimore musician who landed on our Best New Bands and Best New Albums list thanks to his debut Erotic Probiotic 2 — has announced a new EP called Catching Chickens, which will be out on March 22. Today, he’s sharing the lead single “Hand On Me,” which comes with a music video shot by Josh Renaut. “The video is about being reminded that you’re an angel by other angels, featuring a surrealist commentary on celebrity culture,” Nourished By Time shared in a statement.
