It’s Art Week in Los Angeles, and for the second year in a row, the main event (Frieze Art Fair, 1 – 3 March 2024) will be held at Santa Monica Airport, a site chosen for its scale and central location, allowing for ambitious public programming and activations, alongside the expansive contemporary art fair. Santa Monica itself has long looked to shake off its reputation as a tourist trap beach town.

At times disquieting and at others downright creepy, but always powerful, the work on show at LA’s MOCA Geffen marks 25 years of Pfeiffer’s multi-disciplinary practice and is a fascinating survey of the Filipino American artist’s work in digital imagery.

For the tenth edition of 3 Days of Design 2023 in Copenhagen (until 9 June), Danish lighting company Louis Poulsen has collaborated with the creatives behind emerging Brooklyn-based homewares brand Heven, Breanna Box and Peter Dupont. Taking Louis Poulsen’s ‘Pale Rose’ collection as a foundation – which features iconic designs from modernist luminaries, Poul Henningsen and Vilhelm Lauritzen – the couple were given creative freedom to reinterpret the originals.

As the doors of the 18th International Architecture Biennale opened to the public last week (20 May 2023), so too did the halls of the Giovanni Nicelli Private Airport. For the second year, renowned tastemaker Nina Yashar is curating an exhibition of scenographies via her gallery, Nilufar, at the elegant 1920s building situated on the Lido, a barrier island a short water taxi from Venice.
