If ever there was such a thing as a ‘spa experience’ Pennyhill Park has it by the (cold water drench) bucket load. While some spas are content with a pool and a sauna, this Surrey hotel has everything from an ice igloo and mud treatment to several scented steam rooms. The original house on the site dates back to 1849; the spa was built in a new wing in 2003.
