Some roads in Wales will revert to 30mph following backlash at the Welsh government's £34m default 20mph policy. Transport Secretary Ken Skates said the changes will address the concerns that "a lot of people" have raised "on a consistent basis". "We've put our hands up to say the guidance has to be corrected," he said. Swansea council leader Rob Stewart welcomed the change, but said the government must help foot the bill to swap signage.

A scheme to build affordable and social housing units is being discussed today in Pembrokeshire council cabinet meeting. Thirty-eight houses, flats and bungalows would be built at the site of the fire-ravaged Cleddau Bridge Hotel. Members of the council are recommended to support a contract with developer Castell Group Ltd. The site would help towards the council's 300 new homes target and also Welsh government's 20,000 new homes.

A man who crashed a car into a bakery died after rupturing an artery, an inquest has heard. Ryan Bagnall died after the Vauxhall Corsa he was driving crashed into Gerrards Bakery in Wrexham during the early hours of 17 July 2023. CCTV of the moment of the collision was shown at the inquest in Ruthin on Friday. Mr Bagnall's cause of death was given as thoracic trauma after rupturing his aorta. The inquest heard that Mr Bagnall had no drugs and a negligible amount of alcohol in his system.
