Brisbane venue Season Three is set to close its doors for the final time in a mere two weeks. With the lease not being renewed, the “weird little space for special things to happen” will be gone for good, according to owner Nick Smethurst. Back in December, Smethurst warned punters about the impending closure via an Instagram video. “We have been notified that at the end of our lease, which is in May of 2025, we will not be being renewed.

Aussie folk pop duo The Dreggs have had a big day - announcing a new album and national tour, on top of releasing a new single. The Art of Uncommon Practice will mark The Dreggs’ sophomore LP, slated for an independent release on July 25. In support of the new album, the pair will head on tour this July, hitting Melbourne, Adelaide, Sydney, and Brisbane. They’ll be joined by Perth’s South Summit and Melbourne’s Holly Hebe as they tour around the country.

More Talk Heavy A new label has come to the rescue for Australian emo, punk, and grunge bands: Ninth Life Records. Launched in Queensland earlier this week (April 27), the label aims to fill a hole in the market, advocating for those in the alternative music space. “Ninth Life Records was founded to fill a current void in the scene with many Australian bands in the emo space not having representation that caters to their specific sound and needs,” their website reads.

More Electric Fields Queensland Performing Arts Centre (QPAC) has announced the return of their First Nations Arts & Culture Festival, Clancestry, for the twelfth consecutive year running. Set to take place in Brisbane from July 23 to August 10, Clancestry boasts an exciting program of live music, workshops, theatre, and children’s events. The line-up itself is stacked, featuring a performance from Eurovision’s own ARIA-winning Electric Fields - accompanied by the Queensland Symphony Orchestra.
