    Police in Anambra State have arrested two persons suspected to be cultists and armed robbers, along with various weapons in their possession. The suspects, Okechukwu Chinwuko, (27) from Umunaga village, and Ezenwa Chinedu (22) from Umuneri village, were arrested by the police operatives attached to the Anti-Cultism Squad in Enugu Ukwu, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.

    Gunmen have shot dead a man less than 24 hours to his wedding in Ihiala Local Government Area of Anambra State. The victim, identified simply as Bright, was in his early 30s. According to reports, Bright had gone to pick up his fiancée, Chinwendu, in Ihiala town, accompanied by his best man and the chief bridesmaid, when the tragedy occurred.

    The Ohaneze Ndi Igbo has stated that the only person they recognize as leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) is Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, not Simon Ekpa.
